Love and Pride

Three Chimneys Farm staff is very attentive to the horses to ensure they are safe, in good health and have good, consistent care. These factors contributed to early detection of colic in Love and Pride last Tuesday. She was acting uncomfortable that morning and the staff brought her to the equine hospital for examination. It was determined that she had colon torsion and a small intestine twist which required surgery. Fortunately, surgery happened quickly which avoided further complications and blood loss. She was placed in good care and was released on Saturday. She is doing well. Love and Pride19 was weaned during this abrupt surgery but did well with the transition. The filly is still with the herd she has been with and the mare, Love and Pride has been moved to a different location. Here is a photo of Love and Pride after returning from the clinic.
