Miss Always Ready - recovering well

Miss Always Ready
April 23rd, 2021

Miss Always Ready appears to be turning the corner in her recovery from colic surgery. Her vital signs are all now within normal limits and her appetite is good. She is not quite ready to return to the farm, but should do so early next week. Her 2021 Palace Malice foal continues to do well with the nurse mare Beauty.

21 Miss Always Ready Update

Miss Always Ready
April 20th, 2021

21 Miss Always Ready filly will be joined in her paddock turnout by Paulistinha and her 21 Medaglia D'Oro colt. This is the colt that was previously in the hospital pen. Reve D'Armour and her 21 Gun Runner filly were already paired with 21 Miss Always Ready and her nurse mare Beauty, so there are now three mare/foal pairs in this 5-acre paddock. These three pairs will likely stay together in this paddock for 2 - 3 more weeks, at which time they will join a group of 10-12 mare/foal pairs in a large field and change barns. This progression is all part of the normal foal development process based on weeks of maturity. Three Chimneys will systematically increase the number of heard mates and size of the turnout area as the foals become strong enough to handle the increased numbers and paddock size.
