Traveling Tiger

Our last stallion feature of the season is Audible, who sired our first foal of Season 5 – Traveling Tiger 22. An extremely consistent 3-year-old, Audible was never off the board in his five stakes starts that season. Winning the 2018 Holy Bull Stakes and Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park, Audible ran third in the 2018 Kentucky Derby, earning more than $2.1 million before retiring to stand at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Kentucky, for the 2020 breeding season. Covering more than 400 mares during his first two years at stud, Audible sired 16 six-figure weanlings at the 2021 Keeneland November sale (only Munnings sired more), and his first yearlings are being prepped for 2022 sales.

Enjoy the final clip of the season of Traveling Tiger 22 with her group of weanlings in one of their favorite places - the top of the hill in their field at Safari North. You'll spot "Tiger" early on, as she's the only redhead in the group and you can't miss that lovely blaze. Our Foal Patrol Season 5 mascot, Smokey, is still often on hand at the farm, and he makes a special appearance with the weanlings.  

Turned out with other mares who also delivered early in the 2022 season, Traveling Tiger is progressing well. We received confirmation from Safari North that the farm will be downsizing some of their broodmare stock this year. As part of that process, Traveling Tiger and Traveling Tiger 22 will be sold in the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. Through Traveling Tiger's first two foals - a 2021 Good Magic colt and her Audible filly this year, she has established a good foundation as a broodmare, and "Tiger" (as she was called by the crew well before baby "Tiger" came along) will make a great addition to her next broodmare band.

As you can see in these photos above, Traveling Tiger 22 continues to develop and thrive under Bluegrass summer skies at Safari North. Although the weanling is still turned out with her core group of fillies, a few weaned colts have joined the field. At least for now, this group of fillies still tends to stick together, despite the colts' attempts to get their attention.

Traveling Tiger 22 turns 5 months old today and will spend her special day in the company of pasture buddies she has shared a field with for several months, as well as a few new faces added to the fold this month. This forward filly is always ready to go, content during turnout, rain or shine. Fortunately, in these photos taken late last week, the fillies were soaking up a perfect sunny day in the Bluegrass. 

Foal Patrol sends "Tiger," as she is affectionately called by her Foal Patrol fans, happy wishes today and always.
